Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to receive my Serial code?

This depends on the way that you pay for the software. The short answer is instantly - if you pay by PayPal, which most people do. Otherwise, see the following:

PayPal - after purchasing DS Game Maker, you are redirected back to our website, and sent a serial code immediately!
Google Checkout - 2 to 24 hours, as the serial code has to be manually processed
Mail Order - How ever long the postage takes, and the time taken to verify the funds (which can be a while with foreign cheques for example).

So, if you are paying by PayPal, there is no delay and you can be using the Pro Edition in a matter of minutes.

Are there are any time restrictions on upgrading to the Pro Edition?

Absolutely not - you can buy the program 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Even if it is 3 AM it is just the same as purchasing the Pro Edition in normal business hours. We even answer your emails and submissions via the contact form on, for example, Christmas day and during public holidays (if you desire to write to us at such a time).

Must I pay again after using the Serial 5 times?

Short answer: No. There is an initial limit of 5 entries per serial code, to avoid piracy. If at any time you need to enter the serial code you have purchased more than 5 times, this is not a problem. By contacting us, we increase the number of times you may enter your serial code. We can do this for you instantly, as you are purchasing a lifetime license. Please though understand why we place such an initial limit of entries.

I have a friend, can we both use the Pro Edition together?

Yes, you may both use the purchased serial code together at the same time. You can enter the serial code on 5 computers at once, and as in the above question, this can increased as necessary. The license for the Pro Edition is perfect for both individual developers and small teams.

Do I have to re-buy the software for a new version?

A purchased serial code will work in all current and future versions of the DS Game Maker software. Even after major features are added to the software or the benefits of using the Pro Edition increase significantly, you still do not need to re-buy the Pro Edition, as for $11.99 you are buying a lifetime license.

Are there any extra system requirements for the Pro Edition?

The system requirements for the Pro Edition are exactly the same as for the Free Edition - if you are successfully making games in the Free Edition, then after you buy DS Game Maker, you will still continue to do so. The only extra requirement is an internet connection, that will be used to verify the usage of a correct serial code whenever the program starts. After this point, you may disconnect from the internet and use DS Game Maker, with all purchased benefits, until you close the application.

If you do not have a permament internet connection, you may wish to put your machine into 'hibernation' instead of shutting down, so you never have to close the DS Game Maker software.
